Nature and sh*t

Welcome, everyone, to my blog! Under this page you will find a bunch of pictures of, well as you might have guessed, nature and shit. Things like animals or plants or scenery, and of course, sunsets. Lots and lots of sunsets. This is probably my favorite part of my blog, so I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

I guess I'll just start out with a few sunset/sky pics. These are some of the first pictures I've ever taken with my iPhone. The first 3 pictures below were taken from my dorm on the 7th floor.

(^^almost fell out of the window taking that one^^)
This one's actually a sunRISE! Not as pretty as sunsets in my opinion, but they really make you feel refreshed. Nothing like waking up and seeing this outside your window to get your day of doing nothing and watching TV all day started.

Now the story behind these two pictures (above and below) I was walking out of Prospector, doing my thing, being a boss and whatnot, and as soon as I step foot out the door, I'm engulfed by this beautiful blanket of purplish, orangish, yellowish glow that has taken over the sky. I was amazed, mouth-wide, tearing at the eyes (well not really) at the sight, and it was probably the most amazing sunset I've ever seen.

Someone told me that across this lake is one of Michael Jordan's houses. I'd be pretty cool to see this every day, dontcha think?

So my girlfriend and I have both never been on the top floor of the Atkins Library at UNCC, which is pretty much the highest point on campus. It's usually open on Monday-Thursday I believe from 9-5, and there's never really free time during those hours of the week, but on day we got lucky and was able to see this beautiful view from the 11th floor of Atkins. Sweeeet.

Another gloomy picture taken from my dorm.

On the road from Greensboro back to Charlotte with my pops I snapped this pretty epic sunset (stupid van wouldn't get outta my shot). It really got me in the mood to take all my friends, get in the car, and just go on a road trip somewhere. That's one of the things I wanna do before I die. Just be in a car full of my closest friends, singing along to our favorite songs, seeing amazing views, telling jokes and stories, not really worrying about anything besides where the nearest rest stop or gas station is.

Went on a nature walk wiff mah gurrrlfranndd. There's a nature trail on our campus that's about 15% flowers, 20% trees, 60% spider webs, and 5% other.
(I wonder how many of them broke up..)

That's our little sock-monkey/baby Maddox. As you can see, he loves him some nature ^_^

 Flowers...flowers...and more flowers...

Now this is pretty cool. So there's this plant called the Mimosa Pudica which is Latin for "shy, bashful, or shrinking". It's also known as the Sensitive Plant and the "touche-me-not" that is native to South America. What's so cool about is that it shrinks  or folds inward when it's shaken or touched and opens a few minutes later. Check it out!

The Charlotte skyline close up at night! Cool, huh?

Here we have out beautiful campus at night, taken from the 2nd floor of the Student Union..........
............annnnnddddddd HERE is UNC-Charlotte from the opposite angle just after it rained. Looks more like a painting than a picture in my opinion.

 (Peek-a-boo)

I don't know what it is, but there's something about how the clouds turn pink during sunsets that make me love life even more. (I literally walked outside, no shoes on, took this picture, stared for a sec, then went back inside.)

I love dogs, this here's my favorite dog, Boomer, IN ACTION! He does this weird bunny-hop whenever you crouch down. Ain't he adorable?! :D

These two pictures (above and below) are also my favorite pictures ever taken.  Me and my girlfriend were walking around, and it started getting cloudy and it was lightning so we started to go back to our dorms, when suddenly I spot the sight you see in the above picture. I literally sprinted (left my girlfriend) to the parking deck in that direction and found THIS. It was gorgeous. It was like a volcano eruption in the sky (probably a bad analogy). You could see the rain coming down in the distance, I was in awe for like 30 minutes until the rain made it my way and we had to get to shelter.

Ever notice how the sky looks like right after a storm? When the clouds break and you can spot the blueness in the sky and some of the sun? I love that. Another one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken.

Now lemme tell you about these sons-a-bitches right here. They are the devil's pets. These little bastards will hiss and stalk and attack innocent by-passers without hesitation. Me being the brave soul that I am decided to try and be friends with these guys, feeding them some cookies I stole from the residence hall. It was all going well, I got a few pics (this one being the best), but it all went downhill. You see the one in the back? The one giving me the death-stare? Well after I was done feeding him and his 7 or 8 friends, he decides to attack me, running full speed with his wings out and targeting my ankles. I manage to sprint away from this gangster goose with my life (and ankles). Lesson learned---> NEVER feed geese cookies.

Orgasmic colors.

I was walking to class from the high-rises and turned around to see this. Kinda looks like day and night mixed together.

There's this....pond (if you wanna call it that) near the highrises, and every now and then you'll spot a turtle chillin on a log or paddling along in the brownish water. But how often will you spot 3 of em on one log?! It's like finding three of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
(they swam away immediately after this picture)

I have this secret spot that I come to outside of the Student Union to look at sunsets, and this one is one of the coolest ones I've seen up there. It looks like Goku from Dragon Ball Z going Super Saiyan or some sort of explosion in the distance. Funky fresh.
